About TennerEats
A proper meal for under a tenner. Independents only. No chains.
The rule
A place makes the map if you can sit down or take away a proper meal there for £10.00 or less, tax and service included. Not a snack, not a drink, not a meal deal.
It has to be an independent. If it has a branch on every high street, it is not here.
How it works
- Add a place you have eaten at, with the meal and the price you paid.
- Verify prices by reporting what it costs now. The map shows the date each price was last checked.
- Vote places up or down. Higher scores sort first.
- Flag a place that has closed, gone over a tenner or turns out to be a chain.
A human checks every new place before it goes live. Three flags hide a place until someone has looked at it again.
Bites
Contributors earn bites: 10 for a new place that passes checking, 3 for a verified price report and 1 for a vote. The leaderboard shows the top 20.

Why
Everything costs more and wages have not kept up. Eating out has started to feel like something other people do.
A supermarket meal deal is not a meal. Every town still has places doing real food at a fair price, run by people who live there. They are hard to find, so we are mapping them. We started in London; add the places you know wherever you are.
What it costs to run
This is a small project and we want to be straight about it.
